A normal AI chat can only work on plain text you copied out, and the formatting is gone by then. AI Editing reads your Word and InDesign source files in the cloud, lists the places your instruction lands on, and once you approve, writes the change into the underlying XML/DOM. What you download is a working file in the original format.
Will the AI quietly change things I didn't want changed?
No. The agent first aligns related changes with you, then drafts a plan. The plan lists every hit so you can uncheck any one before anything is written.
How do you produce native Word tracked changes?
SimplifyAI works directly against the Office Open XML standard. If you upload a DOCX and turn on tracked changes, we don't merely overwrite the text underneath — we insert proper <w:ins> and <w:del> tags. What you download is exactly what a person would produce with Track Changes switched on.
How is AI Editing billed?
Planning a change costs a small number of AI conversation credits per round. When you approve and execute it, an execution charge based on the size of the file applies. If you're not happy with the plan you can discard it or ask again — the expensive execution credits are never charged.
